Our main trail invites you to discover the beauty and tranquility of the forest through approximately 4.5 km of easy to moderate trails, ideal for those who wish to enjoy a relaxed walk surrounded by nature, fresh air, and unforgettable scenery. It is the perfect experience to connect with the natural environment at your own pace, listening to the sounds of the forest and being amazed by every corner along the way.

During the hike, you will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating transition between the cloud forest and the rainforest, two vibrant ecosystems that are home to an extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna. As you follow the trails, you will encounter a variety of plants, trees, and wildlife that make Monteverde one of Costa Rica’s most remarkable natural destinations.

One of the highlights of the tour is our Orchid Trail, where you can admire a natural garden of orchids growing in their native habitat, creating a beautiful display of shapes, colors, and fragrances. Along the way, you will also encounter impressive leaf-cutter ant nests, remarkable examples of nature’s engineering and an essential part of the forest ecosystem.

The trail continues alongside a small stream, where the soothing sound of flowing water and the cool forest air create the perfect setting to relax and immerse yourself in nature. If conditions are favorable, you may be fortunate enough to spot white-faced capuchin monkeys moving through the trees, as well as a wide variety of bird species that bring the forest to life with their colors and songs.

Throughout the journey, you will visit two scenic viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Monteverde landscape, ideal for taking memorable photographs and appreciating the vast beauty of the surrounding forest.
